Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Reforms Needed to Protect Skilled American Workers
The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing today entitled “Immigration Reforms Needed to Protect Skilled American Workers.” Seven witnesses will be testifying at the hearing. The Council for Global Immigration and the Society for Human Resource Management have submitted a statement for the record that was entered into the record by Senators Hatch (R- UT) and Flake (R-AZ). The CFGI and SHRM statement emphasizes two of the visas that are most critical to our economic success but are increasingly difficult for employers to access – the H-1B and the L-1 visas. CFGI and SHRM have also signed onto a joint association letter signed by 19 associations that supports legal immigration and debunking common myths with facts.
